Abu Bakr Abdullah bin Usman narrates – We were with the Prophet (s.a.w.a.) in Aamir b. Saad’s garden. As we were walking in the garden, we heard a palm tree shout to another palm tree.

Then the Prophet (s.a.w.a.) asked – Do you know what the palm tree said?

We replied – Allah and His Messenger know better.

The Prophet (s.a.w.a.) said – The palm tree shouted ‘This is Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah, and his heir, Ali b. Abi Talib.’

So the Prophet named the palm tree ‘Al-Nakhlah Al-Sayhani’ (the shouting palm tree).
