Abu Bakr Abdullah bin Usman narrates – We were with the Prophet (s.a.w.a.) in Aamir b. Saads garden. As we were walking in the garden, we heard a palm tree shout to another palm tree.
Then the Prophet (s.a.w.a.) asked – Do you know what the palm tree said?
We replied Allah and His Messenger know better.
The Prophet (s.a.w.a.) said – The palm tree shouted This is Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah, and his heir, Ali b. Abi Talib.
So the Prophet named the palm tree Al-Nakhlah Al-Sayhani (the shouting palm tree).
