The Muslim majority have fabricated a fake report on the authority of the wives and companions that the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) – We prophets do not inherit nor do we leave behind any inheritance (for our progeny), rather we leave behind charity for all Muslims.
This fake hadith in one stroke deprives Lady Fatima (s.a.) of her Fadak property (i.e., gift / inheritance) and dismisses any possibility of Ali (a.s.) inheriting any legacy from Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) to support his superior claim to caliphate.

- Final pilgrimage / Hajjah al-Wida
In his final pilgrimage, when Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) halted at one of the halting places, Jibrail (a.s.) came to him (s.a.w.a.) from Allah with the message: ‘O Muhammad! Allah conveys his greetings to you and informs you:
(Expiration of) your term has drawn near, and I will send you ahead to a place which is impossible to escape and avoid. So, make your pact and forward your bequest, and plan for whatever is in your possession, from the knowledge and the inheritance of the knowledge of past prophets and the weapons, and the chest of Bani Israil (Taboot), and the entirety of what is with you, from the signs of the prophets, to be submitted to your successor and your caliph from after you, being My Conclusive Argument on My Creatures i.e. Ali Ibn Abu Talib .

- Ali’s (a.s.) superior claim to caliphate linked to inheritance
Ameerul Momineen (a.s.) inherited from Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) and used this fact to challenge Usman Ibn Affan and Shura members on his superior claim to caliphate in the Shura debate.
Ali (a.s.) declared to the Shura council members:
I implore you for the sake of Allah. Is there anyone among you, who inherited the weapons of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) and his standard and his ring, except me?
They replied: No.

- Minimum recognition of an Imam is in his inheritance of Prophet (s.a.w.a.)
Muslims have been commanded to believe in an Imam like they believe in the Prophet (s.a.w.a.) and among the minimum that they must acknowledge is that the Imam is the inheritor of the Prophet (s.a.w.a.).
Imam Jafar Sadiq (a.s.)
The minimum recognition of the Imam is that he is equal to the Prophet (s.a.w.a.) without prophethood and he is the Prophet’s (s.a.w.a.) inheritor and that obeying the Imam is like obeying Allah and His Messenger (s.a.w.a.) and (one must) submit to him in all affairs and refer him (always) and take his word…

- Common knowledge that Ali (a.s.) was inheritor of Prophet (s.a.w.a.)
It was common knowledge among the Muslims that Ali (a.s.) inherited from Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.).
Kutham Ibn Abbas Ibn Abdil Muttalib, one of Ali’s (a.s.) governors, was asked:
How did Ali (a.s.) inherit from Allah’s Messenger (s.a.w.a.) surpassing all of you (Bani Abbas)?
Kutham replied: Because he was the first amongst us to join with the Prophet (s.a.w.a.) and the foremost in adhering to him (s.a.w.a.).
- Usud al-Ghabah v 4 p 197
Ali’s (a.s.) position as inheritor of Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) is widely recorded by all Muslims. This puts him ahead of others in his claim as Caliph of the Prophet (s.a.w.a.) apart from the Ghadeer declaration and other successively transmitted reports. His inheritance also nullifies the fake hadith that prophets do not inherit nor they leave behind any inheritance.
