A person addressed Imam Jafar Sadiq (a.s.) Al-Salaam alaikum Ya Ameeral Momineen
As soon as Imam (a.s.) heard this he rose immediately Stop it, this name is exclusively for Ali b. Abi Talib (a.s.). Allah has chosen him for this title. He has not embellished anyone else with this title. If anyone appropriates this title he will be a homosexual. If he was not a homosexual earlier, he will definitely become one after assuming the title. Allah, the Almighty, has referred to this in the verse:
إِن يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِهِ إِلاَّ إِنَاثًا وَإِن يَدْعُونَ إِلاَّ شَيْطَانًا مَّرِيدًا
They do not call besides Him on anything but female idols, and they do not call on anything but a rebellious Shaitan. (Surah Nisa (4): 117)
The person asked How will the Qaim be addressed?
Imam (a.s.) replied He will be addressed thus Al Salaam alaika Ya Baqiyatallah, al-Salaam alaikum Ya Ibna Rasoolillah.
