Imam Baqir (a.s.) informed – Allah will not accept the excuse of anyone on the Day of Resurrection who claims – O my Lord! I did not know that the sons of Fatima (s.a.) were the leaders of the nation. It is regarding the sons of Fatima (s.a.) that Allah has revealed this verse – Say: O my servants! who have acted extravagantly against their own souls, do not despair of the mercy of Allah; surely Allah forgives the faults altogether; surely He is the Forgiving the Merciful. (Surah Zumar (39): 53)
