Umm al-Fazl the daughter of Haaris (wife of Abbas, the Prophet’s uncle) narrates that she came in the presence of the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.a.) and said – ‘O Messenger of Allah, I saw a strange dream last night. He said – And what is it? She informed – It was strange. He said – And what is it? She said – I saw as if, a piece of your body was severed and was put in my lap! The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.a.) said – Your dream is true – Faatema will give birth, god willing, to a boy so he will be in your lap. Then Faatema gave birth to Husain (a.s.) and he was in my lap – just as the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.a.) said. So I came in the presence of the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.a.) one day and placed the infant in his lap, but I noticed that the eyes of the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.a.) brimming with tears! So I said: O Prophet of Allah, my parents are your ransom, what is it that makes you weep? He informed – Jibrael (a.s.) came to me and informed me that my nation will kill this son of mine.
