Imam Sadiq (a.s.) in his discussion with Haroon al-Rashid about Ahle Bait’s (a.s.) virtues said – …All the scholars agree that on the day of the Battle of Ohad, JIbrail (a.s.) said, ‘O Muhammad! This act of Ali is a sign of his true devotion.’ Allah’s Prophet (s.a.w.a.) said, ‘That is because he (i.e. Ali (a.s.)) belongs to me, and I belong to him.’ Then Jibrail (a.s.) said, ‘O Prophet of Allah! And I belong to both of you.’
